Commonly accepted norms of scientific publication ethics do not endorse the practice of a single author publishing multiple articles in one issue of a periodical; nevertheless, the final decision rests with the author. When counting publications for the purpose of defending a dissertation, obtaining an academic title, or other accreditation procedures, the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) and other authorized bodies may count two or more articles published by the same author in one issue of a single journal as one publication. Thus, the author independently decides whether it is appropriate to publish several materials in a single issue.
The RSUTS Scientific Publishing Department does not support the practice of multiple articles by one author within a single issue: when the editorial portfolio contains several works by the same author, as a rule, one of them is placed in the current issue (at the discretion of the editorial board), the second in the next issue, and so on. In exceptional cases, the editorial board may decide to publish no more than two works by one author in a single issue. In addition, the author of a full‑length article published in a given issue may also have reviews or survey materials published, but such items are not assigned DOI, UDC, or other identifiers.
For authors who have submitted a manuscript to the editorial office, we can issue a certificate indicating the stage of the editorial and publishing process at the time of issuance:
“Certificate of recommendation for publication of the manuscript”;
“Certificate of acceptance for peer review”;
“Certificate of acceptance for publication” is issued only after all stages of peer review have been completed and the publication fee has been paid in accordance with the Financial Policy.
The certificate is issued upon the author’s request in electronic form.
The RSUTS Scientific Publishing Department offers opportunities for publishing articles in three journals included in the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) list and one journal indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI):
1. Scientific and Practical Journal “Service and Tourism: Current Challenges” – print edition (up to 250 pages), published 4 times a year. HAC‑listed in the field of Earth Sciences.
2. Online Scientific Journal “Service in Russia and Abroad” – electronic edition, published 5 times a year as issues are compiled. HAC‑listed in the field of Economic Sciences.
3. Online Scientific Journal “Service plus” – electronic edition, published 4 times a year as issues are compiled. HAC‑listed in the field of Theory and History of Culture (Cultural Studies).
4. Online Scientific and Practical Journal “Universities for Tourism and Service Association Bulletin” – electronic edition, published 2 times a year as issues are compiled. NOT included in the HAC list, but indexed in the RSCI. It specializes in Pedagogical Sciences.
If you plan to submit an article for publication, you must format your manuscript according to the guidelines.
There is no “expedited publication” service. All articles undergo mandatory external independent double‑blind peer review. The time from submission to publication is 1 to 4 months.
We look forward to collaborating with you and your colleagues! We would be glad to welcome you among our authors.
“Service and Tourism: Current Challenges” – 4 issues per year.
“Service plus” – 4–5 issues per year.

4. Online Scientific and Practical Journal “Universities for Tourism and Service Association Bulletin” is NOT included in the HAC list. It specializes in pedagogical topics.
All journals are deposited and indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) and other scientific information repositories.
After final agreement with the author on the manuscript and incorporation of any final technical recommendations (formatting of references, abstract, affiliation, etc.), the article is sent for external double‑blind independent peer review. The speed of the review process depends entirely on the reviewers’ availability. Typically, 2 to 4 months pass between submission for review and publication. The editorial board does not require authors to arrange reviews themselves. The peer review procedure is described in the relevant section. No expedited publication service is available.
We accept manuscripts for publication ONLY through the submission form available at journal's sites.
You may inquire about the current status of an article in the editorial and publishing process by email: redkollegiamgus@mail.ru
We value our communication with authors and are always happy to answer your questions.
For the peer‑reviewed scientific journals “Service and Tourism: Current Challenges”, “Service in Russia and Abroad”, and “Service plus”, which are included in the HAC list and the White List (EGPNI), a double‑blind independent peer review procedure is applied. Reviewers undertake to follow the principles of the current Reviewer’s Code. The main parameters for evaluating a manuscript are as follows:
1. Assessment of the originality of the manuscript text.
2. Does the topic of the article correspond to the scientific (scientific‑practical) profile, specialization, and scope of the journals published by the RSUTS Scientific Publishing Department?
3. Is the topic of the article relevant and practically useful in the current context?
4. Does the title reflect the object, subject, aim, and content of the article?
5. Is the abstract of high quality and in accordance with the requirements?
6. Is the list of keywords sufficient and relevant?
7. Are the methodological components formulated in the introduction and do they correspond to the content of the article?
8. Does the article include an analysis of previous research on the topic / problem area?
9. Is the relevance of the article sufficiently justified?
10. Does the article identify the parts of the broader problem that have not been solved previously?
11. Does the article contain scientific and/or scientific‑practical novelty? Has original empirical research been conducted?
12. Are the research results sufficiently substantiated?
13. Is the methodology verifiable (i.e., can it be applied in other territories, enterprises, etc.)?
14. Are the conclusions formulated correctly based on the research results?
15. Are the prospects for further research on the topic indicated?
16. Does the author’s research presented in the article constitute a new contribution to science?
17. Illustrations (figures) and tables in the article:
a) Are they appropriate and relevant to the article?
b) Do the titles correspond to the content of the figure/table, and are they concise and correct?
c) Does the text of the article avoid duplicating the content of diagrams/tables?
18. The reference list in the article:
a) Is the reference list correctly presented and relevant to the topic?
b) Is the reference list formatted according to the requirements?
c) Does the reference list include foreign publications from leading scientific journals and publishers?
d) Are all sources cited in the text?
19. Are there any comments on the overall style of writing, spelling, syntax, or correctness of terminology?
Based on the assessment of the points listed above, the reviewer makes a final recommendation regarding the manuscript:
- Recommended without changes
- Recommended with minor revisions
- Conditionally accepted, but requires substantial revision and a second round of peer review
- Not recommended – alternative peer review is required
- Not recommended
The editorial board will inform authors in any case where reviewers provide recommendations, comments, or if the manuscript receives a negative review.
The editorial board will inform authors of any comments on the text or content of the manuscript received from external reviewers, as well as in the event of a negative review and a decision not to publish the article. If an article receives a positive review and a recommendation for publication “as is”, and no revisions are required from the author, we do not notify the author of this outcome.
If you are nevertheless interested in the status of your manuscript and the stage of the editorial process, you may send an inquiry by email to redkollegiamgus@mail.ru.
